Templates
This page defines how we build and maintain slide decks. Google Slides is the source of truth; every deck starts there.
Default (Google Slides)
- Open the Enveritas Slides template and
File > Make a copy. - Choose an existing layout; avoid duplicating old decks.
- Share with the right permissions; publish or export only after content is approved.
PowerPoint (by export only)
- If you need PowerPoint, export the master Google Slides deck as
.pptx. - Do not build new layouts in PowerPoint; re-export when the master updates.
- Expect minor fidelity limits (fonts, animations). Keep charts as images if they shift on export.
New Layout Requests
- Request via #ask-dataviz slack channel with purpose, audience, data sources, and deadline.
- The Data Viz team will add approved layouts to the Google Slides master.
Brand & Formatting
- Keep slides in 16:9 aspect ratio
- Use provided logo positions and margins
- Use pillar colors and neutrals from the template; keep typography as provided.
Data & Charts
- Prefer Datawrapper charts exported as .png images placed in Google Slides or PowerPoint.
- In PowerPoint, use exported images; avoid rebuilding charts to prevent color/scale drift.
Updates & Ownership
- Google Slides master is maintained by Data Viz; they announce significant changes in #ask-dataviz slack channel.
- Re-copy or re-export when notified to stay current.
Do / Don’t
- Do: start from the master, keep 16:9, use existing layouts, re-export for PowerPoint.
- Don’t: copy legacy decks, change aspect ratio, invent new styles in PowerPoint.
